location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen.

The Fundraising Committee holds a monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of every month at 1pm.
Mead Art Museum, Amherst College
Amherst Neighbors is invited to preview an exhibition at Amherst College‘s Mead Art Museum. The exhibition, Re/Presenting: Art Beyond the Color Line, challenges ideas of how beauty, value, power, and presence are displayed in a multi-racial, multi-generational, multi-class democracy. A guide will take us on a back galleries tour to view, discuss, and interact with a handful of artworks from the upcoming exhibition. For Members interested in making art, the guide can introduce activities from the museum’s Drawing Differences curriculum.
Now that it‘s cooler, our summer lunch series is moving indoors to the Bangs Community Center. Come join us for "Cookies and Conversation", a chance to be social and enjoy the company of others. All are welcome.

Our service volunteer members help each other out in all sorts of ways!
Volunteers do everything from visit with their pets, play a game, offer a friendly conversation, organize or declutter, go for a walk, provide IT assistance, do errands or odd jobs, share a cup of coffee, or provide rides!
We can also share how to volunteer in other ways, including helping with events, on a committee, and lots of other ways!
You choose what you do and when you‘d like to do it!

The Programs Committee holds a monthly meeting on the second Monday of every month at 11:30 am.
The Finance Committee holds a monthly meeting on the third Wednesdays of every month from 12 pm to 1 pm.
With regrets Amherst Neighbors is cancelling the Autumn Nature Walk scheduled for October 19th due to a death in the presenter‘s family.
The Amherst Neighbors Board of Directors holds a monthly meeting on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Due to the holiday this month, the November Board of Directors Meeting has been moved to the following Wednesday.
Hitchcock Center for the Environment
Amherst Neighbors is pleased to announce that its members are invited to a tour of the multiple award-winning building that is home to the Hitchcock Center for the Environment, located at 845 West Street, in Amherst. The Hitchcock Center for the Environment is home to the 23rd Certified Living Building in the world and the 4th in Massachusetts. The net zero energy building harvests and recycles its own water, uses composting toilets, and was constructed with responsibly sourced, nontoxic materials. It is a powerful teaching tool that supports a new approach to achieving environmental literacy in the 21st century. Please join us for the opportunity to learn about this unique building which is one of Amherst’s gems.
