**Amherst Neighbors is mask optional**

As you know, COVID numbers and respiratory infections are down but we know they are here and will continue to be here. However, due to the fact that they are down, we are going to a mask optional policy.

If a volunteer or member requests use of a mask, both individuals are expected to wear one.



Requesting a Volunteer Service

• The services we offer are for Amherst Neighbors members who live in Amherst or Pelham. Please click here to join.

• If you are an Amherst Neighbors member, the first step to receive volunteer services is to contact our office and schedule a Welcome Visit with one or our volunteers. After the Welcome Visit a member can request volunteer services. To schedule a Welcome Visit, please call 413-248-7481 or email us at amherstneighborsvolunteers@gmail.com

• If you already received a Welcome Visit, please call our volunteer line at 413-248-7481 or email us your request at amherstneighborsvolunteers@gmail.com

• We ask for 1 to 2 weeks notice for all volunteer requests.

The Services our Volunteers Provide

Our Volunteers help in a variety of ways, everything from providing companionship, going for walks, help with small fixes around the home, assisting with a computer, smartphone, or iPad, providing a ride, or anything else you can think that you might ask a neighbor for. If you have something in mind and are not sure, please call the volunteer line.

Please keep in mind that our volunteers do not provide assistance for anything that is provided by a licensed professional or services such as personal or nursing care, and financial, medical or legal advice. We don't replace hiring a yard service or ongoing shoveling in the winter. We are neighbors helping neighbors and we are not an emergency or last minute ride service.
