Welcome to Amherst Neighbors!

Our MISSION is to create neighbor to neighbor connections, provide access to information and services, and empower elders to maintain socially engaged lives while aging at home. We do this through a variety of virtual social and educational opportunities.

We believe in reciprocity and interdependence. Everyone has something to give and we all get by giving. Interdependence means we need each other to thrive and survive in our homes and communities.

Our members come from all backgrounds and live in a variety of locations - apartments, condominiums, retirement communities, single family homes, homes shared with friends or family, and temporary housing solutions.

Save the date for our Fall Fundraising Gala on Nov. 17. The afternoon will feature dance tunes by Banda Criolla at the Red Barn on Hampshire College campus. Ticket information to follow shortly.

Join fellow members and board members for tea and cookies at the Bangs Center on Thursday afternoons until Oct. 10.

And, stay tuned for a busy schedule of in-person events this fall at the Mead, Hitchcock Center, and more!

We need your support

In just a few years, Amherst Neighbors has grown from a very small group of concerned and interested older adults with a vision to a sizable organization with almost 650 members. Our organization is funded entirely by donations and administered by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, a dedicated and diverse group of older adults who live in our community. Your generous support at this time of rapid growth will help Amherst Neighbors to maintain and expand our current offerings, continue our outreach into underserved communities, and find more time to explore grants and other sources of revenue and community and to engage with our larger community.
