About this event

Imagine a glorious fall morning walking with a seasoned naturalist along the
Silvio Conte nature trail in Hadley.  Beautiful and fully accessible, the trail is a boardwalk that crams half a dozen ecosystems into a loop of 1.1 miles. Benches offer a chance to pause for a talk and Q&A with our presenter. Ken Hoffman is a retired Hampshire College professor and a lifelong explorer of
natural world. He can help us decode the vistas in front of us by pointing out how the trees, birds, fungi, insects, mammals interact to sustain a healthy ecosystem. Combining geology, local history and biology, Ken will also note how human activity has affected the Connecticut Valley’s river systems and the trail’s ecosystems.
