What is this?
Join Sandy Roth for a discussion of
"Girl, Woman, Other"
, by Bernardine Evaristo, Booker Prize 2019 winner. Goodreads' review says the book is "Teeming with life and crackling with energy — a love song to modern Britain and black womanhood. Girl, Woman, Other follows the lives and struggles of twelve very different characters. Mostly women, black and British, they tell the stories of their families, friends and lovers, across the country and through the years.
Sandy Roth, who will lead the discussion, has 45 years of experience in education working both as a classroom teacher and educational consultant. He is currently a member of the Amherst Neighbors Board of Directors.
Be sure to read the book ahead of time. For more information about the author, you can watch an interview with Bernardine Evaristo done by The Waterstones (Oct 17, 2019).
