What is Amherst Neighbors
Our MISSION is to build neighbor to neighbor connections, provide access to information and services, and empower elders to maintain socially engaged lives while aging at home. We do this through a variety of virtual social and educational opportunities. As state guidelines change, we look forward to offering volunteer services and in person activities.
Our VISION is to create an inclusive community where elders live engaged and meaningful lives. We believe in reciprocity and interdependence. Everyone has something to give and we all get by giving. Interdependence means we need each other to thrive and survive in our homes and communities.
Our VALUES are compassion, connection, inclusion, respect, and community. Our members come from all backgrounds and live in a variety of home settings, from homes, living with family members, or even independent living communities.
