Communications and Outreach Committee:
informs our community about AN’s offerings and opportunities
brings new members and volunteers into Amherst Neighbors
Current Focus: Recruiting more of our low-income and BIPOC neighbors
Finance Committee:
protects Amherst Neighbors by instituting sound practices to manage cash, protect assets, and comply with regulatory requirements
oversees the preparation of the annual budget and financial statements in consultation with the Treasurer
ensures that adequate operating information is available to officers, directors, and members of Amherst Neighbors
Fundraising Committee:
raises the funds needed for Amherst Neighbors to be a no-fee village, including funds for printed materials, paid administrative assistant, informational technology, website support, events, and insurance
creates relationships with, and raises funds from, individuals, local businesses, and corporations, either directly, via grants, or as in-kind donations
Governance Committee:
establishes policies and procedures that support the organization in functioning well and efficiently
oversees performance evaluation and board development
Membership Committee:
welcomes new members, educates them about how Amherst Neighbors operates, and helps connect our members to the organization and with each other
helps members navigate and make use of our website and access and make use of our membership directory
Programs Committee:
offers a diverse, inclusive, and accessible array of programs that support our members in living empowered, connected, joyful, and meaningful lives as they age within their community
seeks member input on topics and speakers and includes members, as well as invited speakers, as program presenters
Volunteer Services Committee:
develops, supports, and oversees the many aspects of our volunteer program for Amherst Neighbors members 55+
ensures the proper orientation and support of our volunteers and the linking of volunteers and members
