About this event
Although Elvis Presley is most well known as the “King of Rock and Roll,” he is also recognized as the “King of Fashion,” having influenced generations of people around the world based on his sense of fashion and the outfits he wore as a performer. Over a period of 20 years as a singer and movie star, Elvis was ever changing in his costumes, ranging from his earliest Lansky Brothers look of “cool” to his all-black leather comeback suit to the highly ornate jump suits of his final years in Las Vegas.
In this presentation, Sanford Roth will present the history of Elvis’ clothing using photographs and videos, discussing the evolution of Elvis’ style, highlighting the designers of his clothes and the people most influential in his life of fashion.
