About this event
In this program Darcy DuMont will present the history and progress of a Zero Wast bylaw proposal to significantly reduce our trash by doing three things:
- Changing from subscription services to a town contract through a competitive bidding process
- Using a Pay-As-You-Throw fee structure
- Providing curbside compostable materials pick-up, reducing trash by diverting those materials
Please join us for this program as we learn about effective strategies to protect our environment! A Q&A will follow the presentation.
Darcy DuMont is a retired teacher and lawyer who has been active in a wide array of town politics creating legislation for climate action. Most recently, she is a co-founder of Zero Waste Amherst and has helped shepherd a bylaw proposal aimed at significantly reducing our waste through town government.
