Home Funerals: the Where, How, and Why of Caring for Our Own

Join End-of-life Navigator Dina Stander for a Zoom conversation about home funerals. We'll discuss the basics of body preparation, cooling, waking, and after death rituals or ceremonies. There will be a slide show for insight into what a home funeral looks and feels like, insight into who can help, and a review of relevant funeral legalities here in Massachusetts (for instance regarding transportation). We will touch on the importance of planning ahead, the conversations you might have with family and friends, and then answer questions about when, how, or whether to engage the help of a local funeral home.

This free program is a collaborative offering from Amherst Neighbors, Village Neighbors & the Northeast Death Care Collaborative.

Thursday, December 2nd, 4 pm - 5:30 pm on Zoom.
